USTA Hawaii Pacific Inc. Reorganization

The USTA Hawaii Pacific Inc. (USTA HPI) has reorganized its governing structure.

In the past, the USTA HPI was comprised of 6 governing bodies in Hawaii to include 5 island districts (Maui, Kauai, Oahu and 2 on Hawaii Island) and  1 headquarter or the main office in Honolulu. The USTA HPI board of directors  determined that reducing USTA HPI to one governing body would:

*Simplify the structure of the organization

*Align resources

*Eliminate duplication

*Reduce liability

*Improve operational efficiency

*Allow for financial flexibility

*Offset some of the negative impacts of Covid 19

As a result, there is now one national governing body of tennis in Hawaii  and the Pacific - the USTA Hawaii Pacific Inc.

The neighbor island Districts (Maui, Kauai and, East Hawaii and West  Hawaii on Hawaii Island) have merged under the umbrella of the USTA HPI  and they will promote tennis as USTA HPI Community Tennis  Organizations.

The Oahu District Tennis Association (ODTA) decided not to merge with  the USTA HPI and they are no longer part of the USTA HPI. ODTA will no  longer conduct USTA programs, activities and events.

USTA HPI will continue to operate all Adult leagues and tournaments under  its Director of Adult Tennis, Sara Yoshinaga. Teams participating in the  Oahu local leagues listed below will still have the opportunity to earn a bid  to advance to Sectional and National Championships and Invitationals.

● USTA Adult 18 and Over

● USTA Adult 40 and Over

● USTA Adult 55 and Over

● USTA Adult 65 and Over
