ShortCourt 2025 Recap & What's Next for 2026

ShortCourt Tennis has continued its rapid growth across Hawaii, bringing players of all ages and skill levels together for fast, fun, and social tennis. In 2025, ShortCourt Tennis reached new heights—great turnouts, tons of energy, and players connecting on and off the court through clinics, tournaments, and special events. Mahalo to everyone who made this year such a success.

We’re excited to keep that momentum rolling into 2026. To kick things off, we’ll be hosting some free ShortCourt clinics in early January at Ala Moana Park and Hawaii Prince Golf & Tennis Club—perfect for beginners, returning players, or anyone curious about this easy-to-learn tennis format. After that, you can expect:

  • More Social Series clinics offered across the islands

  • New leagues launching with organized weekly play

  • Fresh partnerships to expand programming and opportunities

  • Additional tournaments and events to bring players together more often

ShortCourt Tennis is social, inclusive, and a great way to improve your game while having fun—no matter your background or experience. And as the sport continues to grow across Hawaii, we’re excited to offer even more ways to get involved

ShortCourt Red Ball Tennis is a FUN, social experience designed to bring new players to the courts and have them playing the game within 10 minutes! With modified equipment and an all-inclusive package, Red Ball Tennis is the perfect way for new players to learn the game or for former players to get back out on the courts.

In 2024, the USTA conducted more than 470 pilots with over 23,000 players to understand player, coach, and administrator feelings toward an easier, social, and less competitive format of play. With 75% of players indicating they wanted to play more ShortCourt Tennis, this is a proven, successful way to introduce new players to the game.
