League Descriptions

Adult 18 & Over

  • New for 2025! Addition of 2.5 men, and Open for separate men’s and women’s leagues.

  • Age Requirement: A player must be 18 years of age prior to participating in the league.

  • NTRP Levels of Play: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, and Open for separate men's and women's leagues. A player may play only one NTRP level above the player's current NTRP level.

  • Team Matches: NTRP Levels 2.5, 5.0, and Open - (1) singles, (2) doubles. All other NTRP levels - (2) singles, (3) doubles.

  • Team Number of Players: Minimum (8) for NTRP levels 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5. Minimum (5) for NTRP levels 2.5, 5.0, and Open. Maximum (16) for all NTRP levels.

  • The league fee is $28.15 per player.

Adult 40 & Over

  • New for 2025! Addition of 2.5 and 5.0 divisions for men and women.

  • Age Requirement: A player must be at least 40 years of age by end of league year.

  • Team Matches: NTRP levels 2.5 and 5.0 - (1) singles, (1) doubles. All other NTRP levels - (1) singles, (4) doubles.

  • Team Number of Players: Minimum (9), maximum (18) for NTRP levels 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5. Minimum (3) for NTRP levels 2.5 and 5.0. Maximum (18) for all NTRP levels.

  • The league fee is $28.15 per player. 

    Note! The 2.5 and 5.0 divisions will not advance to Sectionals or Nationals, but results from matches played will be included in the year-end NTRP rating calculation.

Legends (Adult 70 & Over)

  • Age Requirement: A player must be at least 70 years of age by end of league year.

  • NTRP Levels of Play: Combined 5.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5, and 9.5 for separate men's and women's leagues. The NTRP difference between partners of each doubles team may not exceed 1.0.

  • Team Matches: (3) doubles.

  • Team Number of Players: Minimum (6) who can combine and play.

  • League Overview

    This is a doubles league for men and women 70 years of age or older by the end of the league year. The league season is January - March during the Spring, and September - November in the Fall. Matches are played on Wednesdays during the day.

  • This league allows players without a USTA membership to participate. If a player has a current and valid USTA membership, the league fee is only the $3.15 processing fee. If a player does not have a current and valid USTA membership, the league fee is $28.15.

    Rating Eligibility

    5.5 Division - 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0

    6.5 Division - 2.5, 3.0, and 3.5

    7.5 Division - 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0

    8.5 Division - 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5

  • Age Requirement: A player must be 18 years of age prior to participating in the league.

  • NTRP Levels of Play: Combined 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, and 10.0. The NTRP difference between partners of each doubles team may not exceed 1.0.

  • Team Matches: (3) mixed doubles.

  • Team Number of Players: Minimum (3) men and (3) women who can combine and play, maximum (16).

  • New for 2026! There will be a 5.0 division. A team match consists of two (2) mixed doubles. The minimum number of players on a team is 2 men and 2 women who can combine and player and no maximum. This division will not advance to Sectionals or Nationals, but results from matches played will be included in the year-end NTRP rating calculation.

    The league fee is $28.15 per player.

Tri-Level (18 & Over)

  • NTRP Levels of Play: 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5 for separate men's and women's leagues.

  • Team Match: (1) doubles.

  • Team Number of Players: Minimum (2), maximum (6).

  • Restrictions: Only "C" Computer Rated players are eligible to compete in the Tri-Level Invitational. See Tri-Level League Rules.

  • The league fee is $28.15 per player.

    Tri-Level Invitational Player Eligibility and Qualification

    The Tri-Level Invitational is hosted by the USTA Southern California Section and the event has very specific player eligibility and qualification requirements. Click here to view their event website.

    Please read through these items carefully, especially the parts pertaining to ratings, to ensure your team will be in compliance. These rules are coming directly from the Event Director and there are no accommodations or waivers. If you have any questions, please contact the league coordinator prior to registering your team.

    • Players with a 2024 “C” (Computer-Rating) or “A” (granted appeal up or down from a “C” rating) rated players must play at the level at which they were rostered in the 2025 season.

    • All “T” (Tournament-Exclusive), “S” (Self-Rate), “M” (Mixed-Exclusive) or “A” (non-Computer Appeal-Rated) players must play at the valid “C” (Computer-Rating) or “A” (granted appeal up or down of a “C” rating) generated after the 2025 year-end ratings are published. If they do not receive a “C” rating after the 2025 year-end ratings, they are ineligible to participate in the Invitational.

    • Should a player move up TWO LEVELS at year-end, they must play at their NEW HIGHEST LEVEL, instead of their original rostered level.

    • ​A player cannot compete in two or more NTRP divisions at the Invitational. Example: a player competing in the Low Tri division cannot compete in the Mid Tri division. Players must play on the team that they are advancing on. If a player advances on two teams, the player must declare which team they will compete for. There is no crossover or sharing of players between teams and NTRP divisions.

    • Specifically at the Invitational, players must play at-level. This means that if you are on a 4.0 team, you must have a 4.0 rating. Players MAY NOT play up in a division. For example, a 3.5 may not play on a 4.0 team.

    • For local play and at Sectionals, players MAY play up in a division. However, if your team advances to the Invitational, you will NOT be allowed to compete.

Team Singles (18 & Over) New for 2025!

This is a singles leagues that has separate seasons for different age groups - 18 & Over, 40 & Over, and 55 & Over.

  • Age Requirement: A player must be at least 18 years of age by end of league year.

  • NTRP Levels of Play: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, and Open for separate men's and women's leagues.

  • Team Match: (1) singles.

  • Team Number of Players: Minimum (1), maximum (6).

  • The minimum number of players on a team is one (1) and no maximum. No defaults are allowed so please register enough players on your team.

    This league will not advance to Sectionals or Nationals, and results are not included in the year-end NTRP rating calculation.

    This league allows players without a USTA membership to participate. If a player has a current and valid USTA membership, the league fee is $18.15. If a player does not have a current and valid USTA membership, the league fee is $28.15.

Flex Play Opportunities

Throughout the year, there are various opportunities to try out the new flex play format. Flex play is for those who are looking for matches in a fun, competitive, and flexible environment. Players are responsible for scheduling their own matches against their opponents at a mutually agreed upon location, date, and time.
