League Overview

We are switching it up and introducing another new league to kick-off 2021! Lightning Doubles will test your abilities as you play with a new partner and against a new team every week. For this league, we coordinate who you play with and against, but you arrange the match date with your opponents at a mutually agreed upon location, date, and time. It could be during the day or evening, or weekday or weekend.

• Men’s and women’s doubles are offered in multiple age levels and divisions.

  • Adult 18 and Over

    • 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and Open

  • Adult 55 and Over

    • 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and Open

• You sign-up as an individual. Each week we pair you with a different partner and opponents.

• USTA members receive a discount on the league fee.

  • $13 for members

  • $23 for non-members

• Scoring format is best of 2 tiebreak sets with a 10-point tiebreaker in lieu of 3 set, and ad scoring.

  • Individuals will receive one point for each game won, plus one extra point for winning the set. The maximum number of points the winners may receive is 14. The maximum number of points for a losing team is 12.

  • Players will only earn points during the 1st and 2nd sets. No points will be awarded for the 10-point tiebreaker.

  • Scores from your best 4 matches will be counted in your grand total. The winner of the division will be the individual who racks up the most games in their grand total.

• Players will provide balls for each match and will be pre-assigned before the start of the league.

• For the Adult 18 divisions, players must be 18 years old by January 2, 2021.

• For the Adult 55 divisions, players must be 55 years old by December 31, 2021.

• Results from this league will not be calculated in a player’s year-end rating.
